Meaningful Support During the Perinatal Period
Since the beginning, my career has been focused on maternal mental health. Whether you are trying to conceive, pregnant, or postpartum, I'm happy to support you through the process.
Perinatal Mental Health
Pregnancy and postpartum are not easy. Research shows that 1 in 5 women experience depression or anxiety during the perinatal period (pregnancy, post-loss, or postpartum). Perinatal OCD is often frightening and unexpected. No matter what you're experiencing, you're not alone and you can heal.Â
Specific Areas of Focus
Birth & Recovery Trauma
Birth rarely goes as expected- and even "uncomplicated" births can be difficult to process. Your birth and recovery experience may have left you feeling alone, confused, disappointed, or traumatized. Evidence-based interventions can help you process your experience and reclaim your story.
Grief & Loss
Whether you're struggling to conceive, experiencing loss, or adjusting your plan for parenthood, grief can be overwhelming. In therapy you can find the support you need and the treatment to help you process what has happened to you.
What is Perinatal Mental Health?
The term "perinatal" refers to pregnancy and the two years following delivery. Perinatal mental health encompasses any of the mental health concerns that one might experience in that time period. This includes the terms you've likely heard of-postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety- and others that are less commonly discussed like perinatal OCD or PTSD.Â
